This week, RX’D Radio and Jordan Shallow welcome Kevin Kegel to the podcast. Kevin is a New York local and owner of Ronin Athletic Acadamy. A trained second degree black belt in Japanese Jiujitsu, Kevin's athletic career has spanned competitive powerlifting to Spartan Racing. He now enjoys coaching both Crossfit and Spartan Racing.

Jordan and Kevin cover the topic of intelligent programming for conditioning in strength sports. Kevin describes his approach to programming for conditioning as a mix of aerobic and anaerobic exercises to optimize strength. He focuses on utilizing low-skill exercises that can minimize the risk of injury and maximize output. Kevin lives the example of leading from the front and participates with his gym members in team events to encourage their growth and success. Tune in for the odd tidbit about eye-gouging, a missive on Kevin's idol, The Rock, and a thought-provoking case against garage gyms.

CONNECT WITH KEVIN:

Check out the Ronin Athletic Conditioning Program, intended to train both the anaerobic and aerobic energy systems. This program is designed to increase work capacity, build muscular endurance, increase aerobic capacity, and can be run out of most big and small box gyms.
